Proper Serere Sanitation by Kathleen Aiza

We have taken a couple trips out to Ngone's home village of Boukhou to work on completing our house. We're almost there. Kathleen calls Boukhou "Africa". And she has managed to adapt very ambitiously. On the first trip she led a contingent of little girls on a chicken chase, and learned proper Serere personal hygiene, which is highly refined to the challenging local environment. And by the second trip she was already eating in the traditional style, with her right hand sitting around a big bowl on the ground with her cousins.

On her right is her cousin Fatou, named after Ngone's mother, and on her left is her cousin Ngone, named after Ngone. The other little girl is Ngone's sister Ami's daughter.
